This is a small self initiated project that i did, I wanted to create a new shopfront advert or poster for the high street shop Topshop and Topman. I wanted to take photoshoot images of the models wearing the clothes and then play with them using hand drawn images, vectors and shapes and give some more depth the work rather than a plain background.

This is a new piece that I have been working on recently, I’m still playing with the mixing of human/animal and I have also tried to bring in some more type into my work, which I think is working. Also the use of the very rough cutout solid colour blocks works against the vectored body and hand drawn pig head.

Something a bit different, but trying to use single colour in my work, and the use of the negative space left by the t-shirt.

Just another t-shirt design that I recently finished, again I seem to be using circles a lot in my work??! not sure why but think it could be a signature of my work. I am also getting more interested in the use of texture within my work, using in this design, pencil/ink/halftone print/solid colours and vectors.

Been busy as always working on a lot of designs and hopefully you will be able to see it all soon, but for now I think I will just show you a little something I’m liking but would love some feedback on. I’ve been loving the use of hand drawn images with solid colours / vectors / colour mixing, so this t-shirt design I have really cut it back to as simple and hopefully as most effective as possible? But what do you think? Would you like a t-shirt like this???!!!

I have just visited a fantastic exhibition at Tate Modern called Pop Life, It shows the movement of art into the mainstream, into a money making machine, into it’s own celebrity! With work from Warhol, Keith Haring, Hirst, Gavin Turk, Takashi Murakami and many more. My favorites were Warhol’s Gem paintings, Gavin Turk’s self portrait “Pop” and the Takashi Murakami room! I really recommend this exhibition and you have plenty of time to see it, it runs till 17th Jan 2010

I have been working on a couple of illustrations recently and have decided to bring them across into t-shirt designs. This is the first of hopefully many which I may have to send off to some shop (Topman, H&M, All Saints???!!) and see if they would take my designs and run with them!!!! I have been using a lot more hand drawn images in my work playing off against scanned in photographic images, I really like the way they interact and the use of the paint brush texture just adds that little bit of depth. But listen too me I sound like I used to be an artist or something!!!

I know, I know it’s been a long time since I updated my site and the first thing you should do with a site is always keep it up to date!!!! Anyway I have been busy sorting out stuff and moving house which has put all my graphics up in the air. Finally though I have been able to sort everything out and get my graphics back on track, and what better way to update my site but with my own graphic tribute to Pigeons!!!! Now i’m not sure why but I think pigeons are really interesting because of their social standing, we see then as flying rats but really they run the towns and cities we live in!!!! So I drew up “Pigeons must die”, enjoy
